The Committee on Computers in Chemical Education is a standing committee of the Division of Chemical Education, which according to the bylaws “seeks to encourage, publicize and support the development, implementation and assessment of computing technologies in chemical education”. The CCCE runs an annual Fall online newsletter, and as a service to the general chemical education community hosts the online ConfChem conferences, both of which can be accessed through our web site, http://www.ccce.divched.org/.
The Spring 2015 ConfChem will be on Interactive Visualizations for Chemistry Teaching and Learning, held in May and June and organized by Emily Moore. Further information is available in the ConfChem section of this newsletter, and abstracts are available at the conference’s website, http://confchem.ccce.divched.org/2015SpringConfChem. Anyone interested in organizing a future ConfChem should contact Bob Belford, email@example.com.
In collaboration with ACS CINF the CCCE is organizing the first OLCC since 2004, and this will be on Cheminformatics. We plan to offer this intercollegiate course in the Fall of 2015 and 2016, and are looking for faculty who would be interested in offering this course at their home institutions. Additional information is available at the course website http://olcc.ccce.divched.org/.
The CCCE also hosts an annual Fall Newsletter, and the Fall 2014 Newsletter and discussions are available at http://confchem.ccce.divched.org/2014FallCCCENL. Please contact Bob Belford, firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interesting in becoming involved with the CCCE, wish to contribute to the Fall 2015 Newsletter, the OLCC, or organize a future ConfChem.
